Catherine Breed's Swim California | 900-Mile Ocean Challenge

An accomplished ultra-endurance swimmer, ocean advocate and storyteller, Catherine is preparing to swim more than 900 miles along the California coastline, traveling from the Oregon border to Mexico in a stage-assisted journey that will span several months. While the physical challenge is extraordinary, Swim California is about much more than distance.

The project is rooted in a deep connection to the ocean and the communities that depend on it. Through her journey, Catherine aims to share stories from along the coast, celebrate California’s diverse marine environments and inspire people to build a stronger relationship with the water. Swim California also seeks to encourage greater awareness of ocean conservation, highlighting the importance of protecting the coastlines, ecosystems and waterways that connect us all.
